Had a lovely dinner at Chowrasta in Newcastle recently and came away really impressed. We started with the fried okra, which was perfectly crisp and lightly spiced, followed by the papdi chaat that had a great balance of sweetness, tanginess, and crunch. The meat platter was a highlight among the starters, offering a good variety of well-marinated and flavourful grilled meats. We visited Chowrasta in Gosforth, Newcastle, after seeing so many positive reviews. We started with the Chowrasta Crunch Basket. There isn't too much to say about it other than it was very tasty and came with typical dips that were arguably some of the nicest we’ve ever had. Absolutely stunning meal. The dishes were great portion sizes and the flavours were beautiful. My particular favourite was the lamb Biryani... this in particular was a very generous portion size! My husband loved the goan fish curry and my daughter really enjoyed her chicken tikka masala. The naan with cherry and pineapple went down a storm, such a different and lovely option to add to the menu. For starters we had the Keema nachos and calamari.
