Another fantastic meal at Portillo's. I had the Italian beef and Italian sausage combo, and it was excellent. Honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference between this Tampa location and the Portillo’s locations I’ve visited in Chicago. The food was great, the service was great, and the whole experience easily earns five stars.

We always go to the Orlando one and we love it so thought we'd stopped here for lunch on the way to Clearwater. As good as always but we especially liked the atmosphere here. Super clean and staff really nice. The big beef sandwich is delicious especially with the add on of the sweet and hot peppers. Also really enjoy the chili dogs. Only criticism I have is that we found the fries a bit too salty.

I am a Chicago native now living in FL so this will be a honest perspective. First off the restaurant is very nice and clean and lives up to the Portillo’s brand. The food however is another story, the first time I went the Italian beef was tasty but greasy. In Chicago the gravy is not greasy I believe they skim the grease when cooking the beef or the beef is trimmed a lot better. My second time here not good at all, consistency is a trademark of Portillo’s, it also made me pay attention to the portion size ( the bread and amount of meat). I've been wanting to eat at Portillo's for a few years, but never had the opportunity. I liked the hotdogs, though next time I will not get them with the Chicago style toppings, to me, the toppings take away from the flavor of the hotdog. The fries were good and the peppermint flavored milkshake was excellent. The large size is actually large. I also liked the larger sized straw that come with the milkshake, which meant the small pieces of peppermint did not get stuck in the straw. I'll go back to try the beef sandwiches and for a different style hotdog.
