So so good. We came on lunch time with no reservation but found a seat pretty quickly. The food was really nice, the fish and chips soft and tender. The burger was also really good. Also get the local beers as they are really tasty. Edit: came back 6 months later in Feb. It's still as good. This time a reservation was needed. The food is good and so are the beers but it's pricy for sure.

Our friends recommend the Mitre to us. It's one of their favorite places to eat in Edinburgh so we decided to give it a try. It was busy being Sunday evening but were quickly seated. My wife ordered a latte immediately while we were looking at the menu. After about 15 minutes our server came back to take our order but forgot to bring back the latte. She took our order and brought back her latte which was barely warm and no sugar. My wife has to go get her own sugar. Our main courses arrived. I had the chicken pie while my wife had the steak. Place is nice but the workers lied about the kitchen being closed, and then didn’t inform my boyfriend the drink he was ordering me had an alcoholic and non-alcoholic version. Food- Came for food, but the workers there told us that the kitchen closes at 1800, and we couldn’t get food. Drinks- Ordered a rekorderlig strawberry lime as shown with the menu photo. Menú said it has 0.0% alcohol in it. My boyfriend read the label of the bottle after I had drank 1/3 of it already to find it had 3.4% alcohol. I ordered this drink because I am pregnant, and can’t drink alcohol….. so rather upset that

The bar staff was great, but the manager apparently they don’t know how to keep inventory… They were out of at least a third of their menu items and additionally, they were out of bitters… a core ingredient of the cocktails on their menu and (and cocktails general). The poor staff was frustrated and apologetic, but the manager is apparently incompetent. Kids loved the fish and chips, we enjoyed the three bar menu items actually available (haloumi cheese, nachos, sausage roll)
