Relaxed coffee shop with friendly staff, attentive service and a good range of brunch options and pastries. Couldn't fault the Americano which was a generous size, and there were plenty of tables and comfortable seating. The building itself is very unusual. Known as Queen Elizabeth's Guest Chamber, it would have housed guests of Queen Elizabeth I during her stay in Canterbury in the 16th century. It retains a host of original features that provide an interesting backdrop for a coffee and cake.

STAFF ARE BRILLIANT! as always 💗 I am just very disappointed that they are making them work in these heat conditions. It’s extremely hot inside and as a chain they should take responsibility for this; you either fix the aircon or close altogether. Us customers will survive and I am sure Nero as a chain would too. It’s a shame because I receive great treatment from all staff here so it’s my favourite place to be at, but shame on the franchise.

Our coffee order was incorrect due to rush in coffee shop but as soon as we mentioned this was incorrect and it was missing hazelnut syrup, staff quickly made fresh coffee, we were ready to just add hazelnut but they wanted to make new one. He also gave us one voucher for one free coffee. Amazing staff and their working practice. Thank you
