Truly a rustic pub with delicious food and live music that doesn’t drown out your conversation. Not only is the food delicious but the portions sizes are large as well as their drinks. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. We paid around £10-12 each, which for the area is pretty decent. Honestly, I could have stayed and hung out all night.

Service was bad. We came in at 7PM, took almost an hour to get main dish at 7:56PM with no follow up service. When we asked, the waitress said with attitude that salmons and chicken take time to cook! No apology and automatically take 10% charge The table next to us even noticed it and commented how everybody got their food before us and attitude of the servers. Not recommend if you look for a good service.

We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Canons gait. It has a traditional cozy pub vibe. The hamburger was juicy and fries some of the best we’ve had in Scotland - nice and crispy. Coleslaw was also particularly flavorful. Cullen Skink was a plentiful portion with a nice creamy seafood flavor. The only downside for us was the soda glass was quite small for the value. A minor complaint. Definitely recommend stopping by when you’re on the Royal mile.

It was a nice experience. They have plenty of choices for drinks and food. The service was slow in the beginning and then it was speed up.. the French lady who served us was very friendly. I ordered a burger 🍔🍟, it was quite small (like kids menu😄). Friends ordered Fish and chips and looked authentic. They have few options of Cask Beer, which one should must try in Edinburgh. They have regularly comedy shows (ticket required) which should be fun, we didn't go into that section.
