First time in there. We were checking around others Restaurants but we decided to have lunch here because of the fresh fish. We thought It was going to be the classic fish and chips but we were surprised by the taste. We ordered Fried Calamaro and Breaded Haddock, both very tasty. Amazing. We came here on 18 April 2026, after seeing it on the TV show "Somebody Feed Phil" as he'd raved about it. It was justified. We both got the cod and chips, one with vinegar and salt, the other with just salt. Both were incredibly delicious. The batter was golden and crunchy, the fish very fresh and not at all fishy tasting (I don't like seafood, yet I loved this). It was a generous serve and filled us both up. There was a queue, but it moved at a reasonable pace - probably 15-20 minutes from when we joined to when we got our food. Pretty reasonable for freshly cooked food! There

A seaside lunch to remember! A spontaneous suggestion from my other half — “let’s go to the coast for fish and chips by the sea” — led us to The Fishmarket in Newhaven, and what a brilliant decision it turned out to be.
